About this event
The 2026 Boeun Hoein National Heritage Night Walk is a local cultural heritage event where visitors can view and experience national heritage sites and village spaces in Hoein-myeon, Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do at night. Centered on the story of the Pibanyeong dokkaebi (goblin) descending upon Hoein Village and inviting people to a mysterious playhouse, the event operates programs including night views, night walks, night storytelling, night history, night painting, night markets and food, and night stays. Along the region's historic spaces such as Hoein Insan Gaeksa, Dongheon Nae-a, Sajikdan, Hoein Hyanggyo, and Pungnim Jeongsa, the program features a magistrate's procession, a royal tribute ceremony, traditional storyteller performances, traditional games, calligraphy, natural dyeing, and demonstrations and hands-on experiences of intangible heritage. Throughout the event grounds, nighttime landscapes utilizing national heritage sites, goblin character displays, a moonlight stamp tour, resident participation programs, family experience spaces, food areas, and flower fields and photo zones are set up. It is a nighttime cultural heritage festival where visitors walk through Hoein's history and living culture firsthand and share the value of national heritage and local stories together with community residents.
