About this event
The 5th Busan Seo-gu Medical Tourism Festival will be held over two days, October 16 and 17, in the Songdo Ocean Park area, jointly hosted by Seo-gu together with Pusan National University Hospital, Dong-A University Hospital, Kosin University Gospel Hospital, and Sahmyook Busan Hospital. The festival promotes Seo-gu, the first 'Medical Tourism Special Zone' in the greater Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, builds a foundation for attracting more international patients through programs such as business consultations and buyer familiarization tours, and offers residents and visitors reliable health information along with diverse medical experience opportunities. This year, around 60 booths will run health-related consultations, exhibitions, promotions, and hands-on activities. The co-hosting hospitals, public health centers, the National Health Insurance Service, and other medical institutions will provide visitors with varied health services and information, including physical examinations, stress assessments, Korean medicine pharmacopuncture clinics, and guidance on taking medication correctly. A Medical and Healthcare Industry Pavilion run together with Busan Technopark spotlights the special zone's key initiatives — the medical R&D knowledge industry center, incubators, regionally anchored industries, and medical demonstration projects — and also presents the diverse medical and healthcare devices of the innovative companies taking part. On-site wellness programs in keeping with the healthy theme, including slow jogging, silent meditation yoga, CrossFit, and jumping fitness, are open to everyone, while the Kids Doctor experience hall, air sports, and other children's health playgrounds and family-tailored experience booths give the festival plenty to see and enjoy. Side events include a 'Health Talk Concert' with specialists from the plastic surgery department of Kosin University Gospel Hospital, a children's magic and balloon show, and giant board games. The opening ceremony takes place at 3 p.m. on October 16, and the celebratory opening stage will feature An Sung-hoon, winner of 'Mr. Trot 2', along with the gugak b-boy crew LASTREET CREW and pop flutist Seogabi.
