Busan Youth Week

To celebrate Youth Day — a national commemorative day (the third Saturday of September) established to promote the protection of young people's rights and the importance of youth development and to raise attention to youth issues — the 8th Busan Youth Week runs for three days from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20 at Busan Port Pier 1. The slogan of the 2026 Busan Youth Week is 'The Faces of Busan.' With a masquerade where Busan's sea meets its youth as the event theme, it tells the stories of the young people who live in Busan, a city held in the waters of the southeastern sea. The programs are planned directly by young directors based in Busan, on the idea that individual stories gathered together become the face of a city — a special stretch of time in which young people set down their social roles (their 'main character') for a while and go looking for their true selves (their 'second character'). Programs linked with immersive staging techniques add the distinctive color and creativity of these young directors. Beginning with the Youth Day commemorative ceremony at Busan Port Pier 1 on September 19, a rich program unfolds for three days across youth spaces including the Busan Youth Center.
