Mato Arts Festival

The Mato Arts Festival, Anjeong-ri's flagship cultural arts festival, takes its name from 'the arts festival on the last Saturday of the month' and runs as a themed festival, choosing a theme for each edition in June and October that reflects the season and the character of the area. In October, under the theme 'Broadway in Anjeong-ri,' musical-centered performances and distinctive hands-on events turn the Anjeong-ri Artists' Plaza into one grand musical stage. The program includes a headline show featuring professional musical actors and ensembles, a wind quintet from the Eighth US Army Band, performances by local artists, and more. Visitors can also step into the role of a Broadway performer themselves through a stamp-tour experience program, alongside quirky concept events and a red-carpet photo zone — participatory cultural content for residents, foreigners, and visitors to enjoy together. In particular, the Eighth US Army Band performance, reflecting the character of Anjeong-ri, creates opportunities for cultural exchange between the local community and the US military, and the festival's varied cultural content brings together people of every generation and nationality.
