Siheung Gaetgol Festival

The Siheung Gaetgol Festival is an ecological festival unfolding at the Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park, located on Gyeonggi-do's only enclosed-bay tidal channel, where the natural environment of old salt-pan grounds and wetlands blends together. Drawing on this setting, a wide variety of programs let visitors rest, learn and play in nature, and the festival runs car-free to protect the park's natural environment. The signature program is the salt-pan performance 'Memory of Salt, Dance of Water,' with concerts including 'Concert in Gaetgol,' the Salt Warehouse Puppet Theater, the Tree Grove Music Festival and the Gaetgol Senior Runway. Further enjoyments include the fantasy hot-air balloon experience, the Gaetgol mudflat crossing, salt play and the barefoot salt road, the SEA POOL party, hopping insect experiences for children, 'Today the Gaetgol Is My Playground,' salt-pan experiences, the Slow Post Office, the 'Walk Siheung' walking event, the Siheung salt-pan Salt Rite, an arts festival taking to the streets, the national Gaetgol art competition, the Gaetgol studio of memories, and the Gaetgol stamp rally.
