The Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival, held in Gimhae — the home of early-Joseon buncheong ware — is the region's flagship ceramics festival, established as a ground where tradition and modernity meet. Marking its 30th edition this year, the festival prepares, under the slogan 'A Time of Buncheong, Meeting Sejong,' a rich variety of programs for directly experiencing and enjoying the artistry and practicality of Gimhae buncheong ceramics. It is planned as a hands-on festival — exhibitions by master potters, pottery-making and traditional kiln experiences, and creative exhibitions fusing contemporary ceramics — where visitors see, feel and take part. Children's and family experience programs make it a festival that everyone, young and old, can enjoy together. The Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival is a meaningful cultural event that shares with the world the beauty and spirit of buncheong ware preserved by Gimhae, and a precious ground for keeping the traditions of ceramic culture alive while opening new possibilities in ceramic art.
