A special coffee-themed festival takes place in Seongnam-dong, the district where young people gathered after its designation as an industrial zone and blossomed a culture of literature and romance centered on dabang teahouses. The Seongnam-dong Coffee Festival is a citizen-participation cultural festival for everyone who loves coffee. Held every autumn, it is planned and run together by local Seongnam-dong merchants and coffee industry professionals, offering a rich program of hand-drip demonstrations, latte art experiences, brewing competitions and tastings by a wide range of coffee brands. With a coffee performance contest joined by skilled baristas from across the country, plus experience booths, live performances and food markets that families can enjoy together, it is establishing itself as an open festival that anyone of any age can join.
