Dongdaemun-gu Book Festival

The 2026 Dongdaemun-gu Book Festival is a reading culture festival held to mark September, the month of reading, raising residents' interest in books and contributing to the development of the local reading culture. Under this year's theme, 'Book Power Field - Spread Your Books, Move Your Body!', the festival goes beyond static reading activities and unfolds a variety of participatory reading culture programs that combine books with physical activity for the whole family to enjoy together. At the Future Plaza of Dongdaemun-gu Office, visitors will find 'Reading Fitness', where you move your body while reading books, 'Books Read with the Body', which turns classic fairy tales into play, and an outdoor library where reading and reflection can be savored side by side. In the multipurpose auditorium, the Dongdaemun-gu library network runs a variety of booth experiences including the 'Book Power Adventure Squad', 'Challenge! Library Mini Sports Day', 'Reading Strength Check-up', and 'Dapsimri Motors'. Beyond these, a reading-encouragement musical tailored to children's eyes, bubble shows, busking, and many other performances offer visitors plenty to see and enjoy.
